Grouper farmers in Cam Thinh Dong commune, Cam Ranh City, Khanh Hoa are experiencing relief as traders have started buying again after a period of low sales and profits. The price of grouper has increased significantly since the Lunar New Year, with grade 1 fish now selling for 200,000 VND/kg. However, the disease situation and unpredictable market fluctuations mean that prices can still fluctuate. The Fisheries Sub-Department has recommended that farmers monitor the market closely, stock in accordance with plans, and comply with management agency registrations.
Additionally, farmers are facing concerns about the new farming season as fingerlings are showing signs of premature death and slow growth. The Department has urged farmers to monitor weather developments, stick to seasonal schedules, and continue investing in effective grouper farming.
