Duck egg prices in Soc Trang province, Vietnam have been stable at around 2,500-2,800 VND per egg for nearly a year, leading to substantial profits for farmers. Some farmers have seen profits in the hundreds of millions, with low feed costs and high egg prices. However, while the high egg prices have prevented mass stocking and led to no outbreaks or duck destruction in Soc Trang province, farmers are hesitant to expand due to increasing costs of food and veterinary medicine. The province currently has about 600,000 egg-laying ducks, with no outbreaks reported last year.
