Prices for buckwheat in Ukraine will gradually increase, otherwise it will become unprofitable for farmers to grow it and the sowing areas for this crop will decrease. This will already lead to a sharp increase in the price of the grain. UNIAN reported this statement by the head of the analytical department of the Ukrainian Club of Agricultural Business, Svitlana Lytvyn. She predicts a rise in buckwheat prices by up to 10% in the near future. "We can already see the price of buckwheat rising, and it is currently at 40 hryvnias per kilogram. There may be a further slight increase of 7-10%. However, such a rise will have a positive effect, as farmers, receiving a fair price, will maintain or increase the sowing areas for the crop next year," says the expert.
