The Council of the European Union has set the fishing quotas for the Black Sea and the Mediterranean for 2022, and Bulgaria will retain its quotas for turbot and sprat. The EU Agriculture and Fisheries Council will make these decisions on December 12 and 13 in Brussels. Bulgaria's quotas are 8032 tons of sprat and 75 tons of turbot. The Deputy Agriculture Minister, Georgi Sabev, stated that the available scientific advice and socio-economic aspects of turbot and sprat fishing in the Black Sea have been considered. The EU is also addressing unfair trade practices in agriculture and is planning to approve an Emergency Action Plan to ensure food supply and food security during a crisis.
