Bulgaria reports a negative record in rapeseed exports

Rapeseed exports from Bulgaria have been at a complete standstill for the past few months, as is typical at this time of the season. To date, Bulgarian companies have exported about 0.11 Mt of rapeseed, which is the lowest value for the last 6 seasons and reports a negative record for the period under consideration. The export in the current season is 2 times smaller than the previous one, while compared to the average for the last 5 years of 0.27 Mt, the export lags behind by more than 60%. We expect farmers to harvest less than 100Kha of canola in the new season, and weather permitting, the rough estimate harvest is likely to be around 0.25 - 0.28Mt. Some farmers in southern Bulgaria report that they had to re-sow canola several times due to the dry weather.
