PANCHAGARH. Feb 15, 2021 (BSS) – Farmers of the district are expecting a bumper mustard production in the current season as favorable weather condition is prevailing in Panchagarh. Due to good yield of the winter crop and its fair price during the last several years, farmers of all five upazilas of the district are spreading the areas of mustard cultivation. Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) department sources said around 2775 hectares of land have been brought under mustard cultivation this year with the production target 3,635 metric tonnes of mustard seed. The DAE has given fertilizers, pesticide and other agri-inputs to the farmers free of cost for boosting production of Mustard. It has also given training on using modern technology to the farmers for Mustard cultivation to make the programme a success.
