Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin has announced that the import quotas for cattle and poultry meat will remain the same in 2025 as they were in 2024. The quotas include 40 thousand tons for fresh or chilled beef, with 29 thousand tons allocated for the European Union and 11 thousand tons for other countries. The quota for frozen cattle meat is set at 530 thousand tons, with the European Union and the USA receiving 60 thousand tons and 3 thousand tons respectively, along with other countries. The poultry meat import quota remains at 364 thousand tons, with 100 thousand tons earmarked for the European Union and other countries. Russia has been imposing quotas on meat imports since 2003, and imposes zero duty within the quota, while imposing a 65% duty outside of it.
