CAFÉ/CEPEA: Prices fluctuate strongly in November, but within the range of the previous month

The average prices of arabica and robusta coffees went through strong fluctuations in November, but the levels were quite close to those observed in October. Researchers from Cepea indicate that, throughout the month, the internal values of the beans were influenced by the then expectations of the exclusion of coffee from the list of overtaxed products in the United States and, subsequently, from the 20th, by the exemption of the bean from the extra tariff of 40%. In addition, the climatic scenarios in both Brazil and Vietnam also reinforced the fluctuation in domestic prices. In November, the CEPEA/ESALQ Indicator for arabica type 6, hard drink for better, posted in the capital of São Paulo, had an average of R$ 2,245.16 per 60 kg bag, being only 0.5% higher than the previous month – throughout November, the Indicator operated between R$ 2,100 and R$ 2,300, the same levels recorded in October.
