Cambodian fruits will soon be transported overland through Laos to China.

On January 25, the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries of Cambodia, Dith Tina, met with the Minister of Agriculture and Environment of Laos, Linkham Douangsavanh, to jointly witness the signing of the "Agreement on Overland Transit and Transshipment of Agricultural Products through Laos." Tina stated that this agreement will help enhance the competitiveness of Cambodian agricultural exports to the Chinese market, reduce road transport obstacles, save time, and lower costs. It will promote the export of rice, cassava, fruits, vegetables, and other processed agricultural products to China. In 2025, the export value of Cambodian agricultural products is expected to increase by 7.3%, rising from 6 billion U.S. dollars to 64.6 billion U.S. dollars. China is an important market for Cambodian agricultural products, particularly for rice. Meanwhile, Cambodia has been approved to export five types of fresh fruits to China: bananas, mangoes, longans, coconuts, and durian.
