South Korean farmers will be able to sort and package pears for export to Canada while also processing pears for export to other countries at the same time, thanks to a new agreement between the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency. This is expected to reduce labor and costs for farmers. The agreement also eases labeling requirements for bags used for export to Canada and changes the list of pests and diseases of concern for apples and pears exported to Canada.
