Canada’s wheat planting area expanded by 1%

The area sown with wheat for the 2025 harvest in Canada was 27.03 million hectares, up 1% from last year, according to a report from Statistics Canada. Spring soft wheat was sown on 18.81 million hectares (-0.7% compared to 2024), winter wheat – 1.58 (+18.2%). The area sown with durum was 6.53 million hectares (+2.6%).
