Cañete producers market 161 tons of Italia grapes valued at S/ 177,000 to the pisco industry

The Association of Support and Defense Farmers of Cañete (ADADEC) marketed 161 tons of Italia grapes valued at S/ 177,000 directly to Viña Ocucaje, one of the country's main pisco industries, for the first time. Without intermediaries, and after overcoming various cultural and logistical barriers, the association, which is made up of 65 members, of whom 20 grow Italia grapes on about 20 hectares, with an estimated production of 600 tons, opens new routes for organized family agriculture. The agreement includes strict quality requirements: the grapes must reach a minimum of 21° brix, without rot, without chemical contamination, and no more than 5% dehydrated grains. This standard, which previously seemed out of reach for small producers, has been successfully achieved, demonstrating that it is possible to meet industrial requirements when there is technical support and commercial clarity.
