Weed infestation is one of the biggest problems in cattle farming, reaching up to halving the stocking rate and the support of the properties. The most terrifying of these invaders, the devil’s grass (Sporobolus indicus), is coming strong at the beginning of the rainy season, but a new technology from Agrozoo promises relief and effective control for the cattle farmer. In an interview with Giro do Boi, agronomist Danilo Vedove, from Agrozoo, explains that devil’s grass proliferates rapidly. The scientific name itself, Sporobolus indicus, which means “to the wind,” indicates the speed of its spread. The producer who does not act quickly loses control of the farm, as devil’s grass kills the forage and the cattle avoid the area.
