The Confederation of Rural Associations of Buenos Aires and La Pampa (Carbap) is urging the Argentine government to abolish beef export duties due to market oversupply and restrictions on export cuts. The livestock industry is currently facing a crisis with rising meat and livestock prices outpacing inflation. The domestic market demand for beef has decreased due to falling real wages and an increase in property supply, exacerbated by drought leading to forage shortage. The imposition of export restrictions and a decline in European and Chinese markets have further diminished the value of exported beef.
