Cases of African swine fever recorded in two regions of Lithuania

Cases of African swine fever (ASF) have been recorded on farms in two regions of Lithuania. This was reported by the food and veterinary service of the Baltic republic. “Focuses of infection were identified on individual peasant farmsteads in the Pasvalsky and Kelme districts,” the report says. As a result, one owner had three pigs slaughtered, and another - two pigs. The penetration of the virus into peasant farms was noted against the background of a significant spread of ASF in the wild among wild boars.
