In August, Vietnam's cashew exports saw a decrease in volume but an increase in value compared to the previous month, with a total of 59,900 tons and valued at $369.7 million. From January to August, the exports reached 375,000 tons, valued at $2.3 billion, marking an 18% increase in volume and 15.5% increase in value over the same period last year. The export price in August remained stable, and the average price for the first eight months decreased by 5% compared to the same period in 2020. The Vietnam Cashew Association reported that cashew kernel prices remained unchanged, with some buyers from the US and Europe showing interest in purchases for the first quarter of 2022. There are challenges in sending documents due to a lack of international courier service units. The Russian market is becoming increasingly important for cashew exports, with a 50% increase in volume and a 22% increase in value in the first half of the year compared to the same period in 2020. Vietnam has become the leading supplier of cashew nuts to Russia, accounting for 58% of the total imports.
