Castilla-La Mancha has seen a significant growth in its almond cultivation, with the area under cultivation doubling in the past five years to 150,000 hectares, and organic production exceeding 50,000 hectares, making it the leading region in the country for the cultivation of this crop and the largest producer of organic crops nationally. This was highlighted during a visit by the Minister of Agriculture, Water and Rural Development, Francisco Martínez Arroyo, and the regional president, Emiliano García-Page, to the Almendrun de Tomelloso company. The region is gearing up to present a new Rural Development Program to European authorities, emphasizing the importance of adding value to the region's production and the significance of companies like Almendrun.
