The Generalitat of Catalonia will once again declare a hunting emergency to stop the overpopulation of rabbits. The new declaration will be published soon, after being decided in a meeting of the Co-management Board of the rabbit of the Lérida plain, at the headquarters of the Department of Climate Action, Food and Rural Agenda in the province. On September 30, the Declaration of Hunting Emergency (DEC) ended in Lérida due to overpopulation of the forest rabbit species in the Private Hunting Areas affected by damage to agriculture that the Department implemented in March. The defined territorial scope included the regions of Urgell, Pla d'Urgell, Segrià, La Segarra, La Noguera, and Les Garrigues, and included a total of 91 hunting areas and 1,889 square kilometers.
