The Australian Bureau of Statistics reports a rise in carcase weights for beef cattle and goats. Adult cattle carcase weights have risen by 30% since June 2003, with Queensland cattle being the heaviest. Male cattle carcase weights in Queensland and Western Australia reached record highs in 2022. Female weights also increased, with improved genetics and consistent supply contributing to increased production volumes in the goat industry. The number of goats being processed has also surged in the past two years, leading to a significant increase in production.
