Cattle breeders received BGN 28.8 million transitional national aid for Campaign 2024 in Bulgaria

The State Fund "Agriculture" (DFZ) has started the payment of subsidies under direct payment interventions for the Campaign 2024. The first financial support was given to livestock breeders who applied for the intervention "Transitional National Aid for Cattle and/or Buffalo, not linked to production" (PNJ1). BGN 28,791,404 was credited to the accounts of 5,732 farmers. For the third year in a row, the DFZ transferred the national funds in full. The rates under PNJ1 are set by Order of the Minister of Agriculture and Food. The order states that farmers receive BGN 70.29 for one eligible cattle and BGN 123 for a buffalo. Farmers who, as of December 31, 2018, were raising 10 or more cattle and/or 10 or more buffaloes are entitled to support under the intervention.
