The State Fund "Agriculture" in Bulgaria has started the disbursement of subsidies for the 2024 campaign under the direct payment interventions, beginning with livestock breeders under the 'Transitional National Aid for Cattle and/or Buffalo' (PNJ1) intervention. A total of BGN 28,791,404 was allocated to 5,732 farmers. The rates for this intervention are set by the Minister of Agriculture and Food, with BGN 70.29 for each eligible cattle and BGN 123 for buffalo. This marks the third consecutive year that the DFZ has fully transferred national funds. The regulation follows the European Parliament and Council's Regulation (EU) 2021/2115, which stipulates that transitional national aid can only be granted to sectors that received national top-ups in 2013.
