The Central Statistics Office (CSO) reports a rise in cattle and sheep slaughterings for November 2022, with increases of 4.5% and 9.8% respectively compared to the same month in 2021. Conversely, pig slaughterings saw a decrease of 5.6%. This trend continues from earlier in the year, with overall cattle and sheep slaughterings showing an increase, while pig slaughterings have decreased. Bord Bia also reports a 4% increase in cattle supplies at export approved meat plants compared to the same week in 2021, but there's a significant decrease in pig supplies, estimated to be around 2% lower.
