In July, cattle slaughter in the region decreased by 1.8% compared to the previous year, with the categories of steers and bulls experiencing the highest decrease in benefited heads. Production of meat on sticks also decreased, with a 7.2% drop in steer meat and a 33.3% drop in bull meat. However, cattle transactions at fairs increased by 9.5% in the Los Lagos and Aysén Region, driven by higher auctioned heifers and calves. This slowdown in beef production is a continuing trend in the region.
