Bulawayo City Council (BCC) has expanded its cattle herd to 526 and grows sorghum over 2,5 hectares as part of efforts to increase revenue, following concerns from residents about high rates and poor service delivery. A group of councillors, led by Ward 9's Donaldson Mabutho (Citizens Coalition for Change, CCC), conducted an assessment of BCC's business entities, including farms and commercial units like Ingwebu Breweries. CCC leaders have urged their councillors to help improve the profitability of these businesses to reduce service delivery costs for residents. This initiative is in response to Vice-President Constantino Chiwenga's criticism of opposition-controlled councils for their inability to generate income and manage assets effectively, leading to high rates for residents.
