October 12, 2021, Ottawa - The Canadian Federation of Agriculture (CFA) is pleased to announce that Farm Credit Canada (FCC) and the Ontario Federation of Agriculture (FAO) have both made significant contributions Hay West 2021 initiative to help defray the cost of shipping hay to drought-stricken farmers in the Prairie provinces. The Hay West Initiative is helping farmers in the West who are currently suffering from a hay shortage due to a devastating drought. Farmers from the East Coast, as well as from Ontario and Quebec, graciously reserved hay or donated it to be shipped west to help feed the cattle. FAO contributed $ 50,000 to this initiative, while FCC contributed $ 25,000.
