Spain: Changes in the regulation of control and certification of nursery fruit trees to adapt it to the EU regulations

The Council of Ministers has approved, at the proposal of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, a royal decree that modifies the technical regulations for the control and certification of fruit nursery plants and for the control of the production and marketing of materials reproduction of ornamental plants. This modification transposes the new community regulations on regulated non-quarantine pests of the European Union in the reproduction materials of ornamental plants, the multiplication materials of fruit trees and the fruit seedlings destined for the production fruit, included in the Execution Directive (EU) 2022/2438 of the Commission, of December 12, 2022. The purpose of the community standard is to update the list and requirements of certain pests and, where appropriate, modify the specific measures that must be take against them.
