The Development Organization of Crete (OAK) has solved the problem of uninterrupted irrigation for avocado producers in the Plain of Western Apokoronas, Chania. A new metal tank will be placed to ensure the supply of quality water for avocado crops. This initiative is expected to boost agricultural income, improve the quality of life of inhabitants, and prevent young people from leaving the area. The concession for the tank's placement was signed by OAK's CEO, Aris Papadogiannis, and the mayor of Apokoronas, Charalambos Koukianakis.
