Cheeses from Ayacucho and Pasco are crowned as the best in the Macrorregión Centro 2025 Contest

With the presence of champions from the 2024 National Cheese Contest and the Brazil Cheese Expo, as well as new cheese plants with innovative proposals, the "2025 Macroregional Cheese Contest – Central Zone" was held in Oxapampa, where Ayacucho and Pasco emerged as the big winners by conquering the majority of gold and silver medals. The event, organized by the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (Midagri) through Agromercado, brought together 50 dairy plants, associations, cooperatives, and SMEs from Ayacucho, Huancavelica, Huánuco, Ica, Junín, Lima, Ucayali, and Pasco, which presented 130 cheese samples. During the evaluation, a jury made up of 21 national and international experts assessed texture, flavor, smell, color, and consistency.
