[Korean Farmers' News Reporter Jo Sung-je] Cheongsong County has decided to increase its budget for the processed apple purchase support program to aid local farmers whose main variety of apples, 'Sinano Gold,' have suffered heat damage. According to Cheongsong County, the heat damage to Sinano Gold apples, caused by fruit flesh swelling and fruit skin bursting due to continuous high temperatures, has resulted in a damage rate of approximately 10% in the region. To alleviate the financial burden on affected local farmers, Cheongsong County will provide an additional 5,000 won in county funds to the currently implemented 'Low-quality Apple Purchase Support Program' (12,000 won per box), based on a 20kg box standard.
