Chile: Beef production in cattle fell by 8.3%

Nationally, beef production from cattle was 15,808.6 tons, a year-over-year decrease of 2.8%. The Los Ríos and Los Lagos Regional Grouping accounted for 38.8% of production, followed by the Araucanía Region, which contributed 20.7%. The total number of cattle slaughtered for human consumption (known as beneficiation) was 26,382 heads at the Regional Grouping level, representing a year-over-year decrease of 7.2%. National cattle profit reached 60,868 head, a 3.2% decrease compared to the same period last year. The Los Ríos and Los Lagos Regional Grouping accounted for 39.2% of the national profit, followed by the Araucanía Region, which contributed 20.7%.
