In 2021, Peru's exports of exotic fruits abroad saw a significant increase of 46.2%, totaling around USD 13,400,000, with Chile being the main importer. The report highlights passion fruit, aguaymanto, and lucuma as the top exotic fruits in terms of export earnings. A total of 151 companies from Peru exported these fruits to 35 countries, with South America being the primary destination. The global market for exotic fruits in 2020 was estimated to be around USD 9,053 million, with China as the leading buyer and Vietnam as the leading supplier.
