Chile's Office of Agricultural Studies and Policies (Odepa) has reported a 3.6% increase in vegetable exports in the January-November 2021 period, generating 443 million FOB dollars, compared to the same period in 2020. The United States was the leading recipient of these exports, with a 32% share, followed by Japan, the Netherlands, Mexico, Brazil, and Argentina. Tomatoes and garlic were the top export earnings, and vegetable seeds, particularly carrot and broccoli, saw a 14% increase in export value year-on-year. The exports were dominated by vegetable seeds (37.1%), but there was significant growth in fresh vegetables, especially garlic, and vegetable pasta.
