On the afternoon of December 23, the Chilean Cherry Committee under the Chilean Fruit Exporters Association (Frutas de Chile) held the first online seminar for the 2025/26 production season, sharing the latest production situation of Chilean cherries, progress of key market marketing activities, and nutritional knowledge of cherries with industry professionals. Charif Christian Carvajal, the Director of the European and Asian Markets of the Chilean Fruit Exporters Association, first introduced important production updates for this season: "Affected by the unfavorable weather at the end of spring in Chilean production areas, the final export volume of cherries for this season is predicted to be reduced by 15% from the initial forecast in early October to about 1.1 million boxes (5 kg/box), which is about 550,000 tons (29,891 containers).
