Chilean fruit company, Frutas de Chile, is exploring trade opportunities with Morocco, seeing it as a strategic market and gateway to Africa due to its political and economic stability, modern infrastructure, and logistical advantages for refrigerated shipments. Currently, Chile does not export fresh fruit to Morocco due to phytosanitary issues, but sees potential in Morocco as a hub for distribution across the continent. The country has around 50 free trade and trade agreements, is the largest importer of Chilean dried fruits in Africa, and offers investment and trade opportunities in its southern provinces. Despite the lack of a Free Trade Agreement between Chile and Morocco, negotiations are underway to benefit both countries.
