The Office of Agrarian Studies and Policies (Odepa) in Chile has reported a 16% increase in volume and a 13% increase in value in nut exports, totaling 128 thousand tons and USD 581 million from January to October 2021, compared to the same period in 2020. Walnuts in shell were the primary export, accounting for 37% of dried fruit shipments, with India, Turkey, and Italy being the main importers. Shelled walnuts and shelled hazelnuts were the next most significant exports, primarily to Germany, Spain, and Italy, respectively.
