China suspended the export of Taiwanese grouper last year but has announced the resumption of imports from December 22 this year, with strict conditions on the imported grouper coming from approved and registered farms. The Ministry of Agriculture in Taiwan has taken measures to improve the safety and health of the grouper breeding industry, including comprehensive inspections and revisions of relevant regulations. Taiwan is also looking to expand the export market for grouper to countries such as Malaysia, the United States, Singapore, and Japan, reducing its dependency on the Chinese market.
