In 2024, Russia's honey exports hit a record high of over 5,000 tons, a 40% increase from the previous year, making it the fourth largest supplier of honey to China, following New Zealand, Australia, and Thailand. Other countries like Slovakia and Serbia also imported significant amounts. The United Nations and the World Bank report that Russia is among the top ten honey producers globally. The Russian Agricultural Products Export Development Center anticipates that honey exports could reach $10 million by 2030. Additionally, Russia's agricultural exports to China, including rapeseed oil, barley, sunflower oil, peas, and soybeans, exceeded 8.3 million tons with a value of about $7.4 billion, making China the primary importer of Russian agricultural products in 2024.
