The price of fresh cassava roots in the Central and Northern regions has been increasing, pushing up production costs, but the purchase price of Chinese customers' cassava starch products did not meet the expectations of Vietnamese cassava factories. In 2023, the export of cassava and cassava products decreased compared to 2022, with China remaining the largest consumer market for Vietnamese cassava and cassava products, but with a slowdown in recent months that affected Vietnam's exports. China imported 5.5 million tons of cassava chips and 2.95 million tons of cassava starch in the first 11 months of 2023, with Vietnam being the second largest supplier for both products.
