Pangasius exports in October 2023 reached nearly $173 million, a 4% decrease compared to the same period last year. Overall, pangasius exports for the first 10 months of 2023 amounted to over $1.5 billion, a 29% decrease compared to the previous year. China and the US remain the top markets for Vietnamese pangasius, with China seeing positive growth and the US showing signs of improving consumer demand. The EU market has also increased imports, with Germany being a bright spot and the preparations for the year-end festive season expected to drive further demand. The CPTPP market segment also saw positive growth. However, businesses are advised to explore other potential markets in South America and Asia while promoting the export of other products besides frozen fillets.
