China increased imports of sunflower meal

In the 2022/2023 season, which will end on September 30, China will import 2.7 million tons of sunflower meal, which is 39% more than last season, the US Department of Agriculture's Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS USDA) predicts. This is reported by the Grain On-Line agency. Sunflower meal became more attractive to Chinese consumers after soybean meal prices rose sharply in the second half of the current season. Imports of sunflower meal for the first eight months of the season reached 2.2 million tons. The lion's share of supplies (74%) was provided by Ukraine. The volumes of supplies of Ukrainian meal in the current season are stable, while imports from Bulgaria and Russia have grown significantly.
