In July, China significantly boosted its imports of cassava starch, spending $145.1 million on 289,200 tons, marking a 66.3% increase in volume and 55.9% in value year-on-year. This trend has persisted for five months. From January to July, China imported 2.05 million tons worth $1.08 billion, mainly from Southeast Asia, with Thailand and Vietnam as the top suppliers. Vietnam's exports to China rose by 40% in volume and 56% in value. Despite a 3.8% drop in volume, Vietnam's cassava exports reached 1.79 million tons worth $822.7 million in the first eight months, a 7% increase in value year-on-year.
