Several beef export establishments have been suspended by China due to the detection of ractopamine during import testing, following a strict zero-tolerance policy by China on this substance. The Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has reminded U.S. exporters of this policy through an advisory note, highlighting the non-compliance of the finding with the Phase One Agreement between the U.S. and China. The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is collaborating with Chinese authorities to address the issue and the regulation of ractopamine.
