In July 2020, Poland experienced a notable surge in the production of chocolate and chocolate products, with a 17.7% year-on-year increase to 35.6 thousand tonnes, and a 12.8% rise from June 2020. Over the first seven months of 2020, there was a modest 2.0% growth in total production compared to the same period in 2019, reaching 235 thousand tonnes. This growth is largely attributed to a significant 28.9% increase in the production of chocolate (excluding white) in July 2020, alongside a 6.0% rise over the first seven months of the year. However, the production of chocolate candies showed a different trend, with a 15.9% annual decrease in July 2020 and a 5.8% drop between January and July 2020. This report provides a snapshot of the dynamic trends in Poland's chocolate and confectionery industry, highlighting fluctuations in production volumes over the past five years, with periods of growth and decline for both chocolate and chocolate candy production.
