The South Chungcheong Fisheries Resources Research Institute recently announced that it will be recruiting participants for the Fisheries Business Manager Training Program, aimed at discovering young and middle-aged fishermen who will drive the future of the fisheries industry, until the 27th of next month. This year's selected candidates will include 65 successors of fishermen and 10 excellent fishermen, totaling 75 individuals, which is 12.3% of the 606 nationwide. The selection criteria for successors of fishermen are those aged between 18 and under 50 who are subject to or exempt from military service (including women) with no fishing experience or up to 10 years of experience. Excellent managers must be 60 years old or younger, have been managing their own fishing business for at least 5 years after being selected as a successor of a fisherman (3 years for successors selected before 2019), or be involved in marine activities.
