The "Omnibus III" Regulation, which was adopted at the end of last year, came into effect from January 1, 2026. Its goal is to simplify the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) by reducing the administrative burden for agricultural producers and national administrations. The document introduces certain reliefs from the previously applied rules, which can be implemented as early as the 2026 Campaign. "Upon careful reading of the 'Omnibus' Regulation, there is a slight deviation from the very high environmental mission of the European Commission regarding compliance with the standards for good agricultural and ecological condition, the statutory requirements for management, and the environmental interventions built upon them," said Adelina Stoyanova, Director of the Direct Payments Directorate at the Ministry of Agriculture and Food (MAF) during a seminar organized by the Plovdiv Grain Producers' Union.
