The World Citrus Organization (WCO) forecasts a slight decrease of 0.77% in citrus production in the southern hemisphere for the next season, totaling 24,338,123 tons. Despite the adverse weather conditions, exports are projected to surge by 7.45% to 4,156,879 tons. Oranges are expected to see a significant decrease, while mandarins and clementines are estimated to increase dramatically. Lemon production is also on the rise, but grapefruit production is predicted to decline. The WCO has seen its first leadership change since doubling its membership and establishing itself as a key forum for the citrus industry.
