Citrus growers continue to await a more consistent return of rainfall to ensure a uniform and vigorous flowering, according to surveys by Cepea. So far, flowers have opened in only a few dry-grown plots and in irrigated orchards. According to the Research Center, many producers are concerned about the current physiological conditions of the plants and also of the fruits that have been sent to the fresh market – the low rainfall index has been wilting the oranges. For the coming days, there is a forecast of rain in the main citrus regions of the São Paulo belt, a context that should contribute to maintaining the productive potential of the orchards, even if the development of the crop is somewhat delayed compared to previous years.
