The Competition Protection Commission should self-initiate and conduct an investigation regarding dairy product prices in Bulgaria - this is what KNSB demands. The union proposes that food product labels mandatorily indicate producer and importer prices, if imported from abroad. KNSB presented an observation of prices for basic goods from the so-called small consumer basket - 20 basic foods and gasoline, in implementation of the memorandum signed with the government regarding euro introduction and public control over potential unjustified price increases. "There is no logic for us to have dairy products whose prices are 125% of the average European prices," said KNSB President Plamen Dimitrov, who insisted that the Competition Protection Commission conduct a comprehensive control along the chain from milk producers and importers to dairy products on the shelf, BNR reported.
