Duong Phong commune in Bach Thong district, Vietnam, has developed orange and tangerine planting as a key crop, increasing farmers' income. The commune has received attention from party committees and local authorities, leading to scientific and technical training, quality seedlings, and land conversion for citrus trees. The productivity and quality of the crops are high, with some families earning up to 800 million VND per crop. However, the citrus planting faces challenges such as barren land, pests, and early harvest affecting quality. The province is implementing measures for pest prevention and expansion of planting areas, with the Central Vietnam Farmers Association recommending a more scientific approach to fruit harvesting and care.
