A recent study by the Brazilian Confederation of Agriculture and Livestock (CNA) has identified Southeast Asian countries, including India, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, and Singapore, as potential markets for increasing Brazilian nut exports. The study highlights India and Vietnam as the most promising markets due to their growing populations, increasing dependency on imports, and a trend towards healthier lifestyles. Despite being the third-largest producer, India is a net importer of nuts. Vietnam, the largest processor and exporter of cashew nuts, relies heavily on imports and Brazil is a key supplier. Thailand, a hub for nut processing in Southeast Asia, presents a significant opportunity for Brazilian nut exports. However, Malaysia and Singapore, while depending on imports to meet internal demand, are not considered major opportunities for Brazilian nut exports due to their lower trade volumes.
