The Ministry of Industry in Indonesia is planning to enhance the productivity and global competitiveness of the country's cocoa processing industry. Despite global uncertainties, the industry has seen significant growth, contributing over $1 billion to the national economy in 2020 and 2021. Indonesia ranks third in cocoa product processing and sixth in cocoa bean production globally. The government is encouraging the development of artisan chocolate processors and offering tax incentives to the chocolate processing industry. Additionally, the Ministry plans to promote domestically processed cocoa products internationally.
